ibaCapture - CAP2023-01

ibaCapture version v5.2.0

What’s new in this version?

Notable Changes

The installer framework for ibaCapture has been changed. This affects commandline options for silent or scripted installations of ibaCapture.

All credentials (usernames and passwords) in existing configuration files are now encrypted. Existing data is converted automatically during an update.
In case it would be necessary to switch back to older versions of ibaCapture, the credentials from configurations stored with ibaCapture >v5.2.0 cannot be used.

Ending support for certain features

Starting with ibaCapture v5.2.0, ffdshow video decoders will no longer be installed. Since ibaCapture v4.3.3 they have been replaced by LAV filters as the default decoder.
In case LAV filters cannot be used, ffdshow needs to be installed manually if it is not available on a system.

The support for GigE cameras using Matrox MIL lite v10 will be removed starting with the next main version of ibaCapture, i.e. starting with v5.3.0.
Affected ibaCapture Servers will show a notification when the server configuration is opened.
To be able to update affected systems, cameras that are configured as “Matrox Imaging Library (MIL)” need to be migrated to a configuration that uses the camera type “Pleora eBUS SDK”.
This requires an additional 3rd-party license and, depending on the used hardware, using a new network adapter may be recommended.
Contact your local iba support to ask for a migration path to replace Matrox Imaging Library with Pleora eBUS.

New Features

ibaCapture provides status information for ibaManagementStudio.

ibaManagementStudio Agent can be installed directly from the ibaCapture installer

Improvements

The icon set has been changed. When using a camera view in ibaPDA Client, the icon size and style now match those of other views in ibaPDA Client.

If an AXIS Control Board is used, the behavior of switching between cameras is now more consistent.
