ibaPDA - PDA2023-05

ibaPDA version v8.3.0

For using ibaPDA v8.3.x you need an ibaPDA license with a valid EUP date of 2023 05 05 or later.

What’s new in this version?

Main new features and improvements

Bug fixed which potentially leads to incorrect signal IDs in a dat file when a module number of 524288 or higher is configured.

The S7 request (31.001310 and 31.001311) supports also access of optimized data blocks via UDP, PROFINET and ibaNet-E as data path. This requires an S7-15xx CPU with firmware ≥ V3. The corresponding PLC library will be released separately.

The S7 request (31.001310) and HiPAC request (31.001302) now support ibaNet-E as data path. The ibaNet-E protocol is a network protocol developed by iba to transfer data between measurement devices and ibaPDA. Compared to pure UDP it is characterized by better jitter handling and the possibility to transfer multiple samples in one message. The sending cycle can be slower than the measurement cycle, what reduces the load on the communications processor. The corresponding PLC libraries will be released separately.

The new virtual Multi decoder module allows defining multiple decoders in a single module. Profiles contain predefined decoding schemes and can be assigned to decoders. This greatly improves configuring decoders and provides a more user-friendly experience.

The new MQTT Sparkplug B data store allows you to write Sparkplug B formatted data to an MQTT server. Sparkplug is a protocol on top of MQTT and adds capabilities like topic structure definition, state management and payload data model definitions to fit better to industrial requirements. MQTT Sparkplug B data store is part of the existing MQTT Data Store licenses (30.67100x).

The virtual module supports new bitwise logical operations bw_AND, bw_OR, bw_XOR, bw_NOT similar to ibaAnalyzer.

In ibaQPanel a new numeric up/down control allows a user-friendly way of interactively changing numeric values and the text input control supports input validation using regular expressions.

ibaInSpectra modules support now multiple preprocessing steps and dynamic Anti-Aliasing filter can be applied for modules with orderresampling.

ibaQDR received a significant performance boost due to support of parallel processing of measuring locations and asynchronous file access.
