ibaPDA - PDA2023-08

ibaPDA version v8.4.0

What’s new in this version?

For using ibaPDA v8.4.x you need an ibaPDA license with a valid EUP date of 2023‑08‑02 or later.

Breaking changes

The DataStoreInfoHD diagnostic function now uses the same values for the info type 0 (recording status) as the other DataStoreInfo functions.
The disconnected status has been removed. To get the connection status, use info type 2 (Is server connected?) instead.

ibaCom-PCMCIA and ibaCom-PCMCIA-F are no longer supported.

The installation directory has changed. Manually created shortcuts must be adapted.

Main new features and improvements

To improve the overview a new tab “Analytics” has been added in the IO manager, in which all interfaces and modules are summarized that offer calculations and analysis functions.
At the moment these are the interfaces Virtual, ibaInSpectra and ibaInCycle.

A new "signal mapper" module is introduced. A signal mapper module basically creates an abstraction layer between the input and the visualization or processing layer. One of the main goals is to create some form of standardization between several ibaPDA systems while another goal is to allow offline preparation of layouts.
Since signal mapper modules do not provide additional connectivity but are merely a means to organize an I/O configuration, these modules are completely license-free.

In order to reduce the amount of unnecessary recorded data in HD-Server, it is now possible to trigger HD data acquisition as it is already available for dat files.
Identical start and stop trigger conditions like signal based, cyclically and trigger pool can be used as well as underlaying time periods. For full compatibility ibaHD-Server v3.2.0 is mandatory.

The IEC 61850 client supports now also IEC 61850-7-2 which allows to automatically copy recorded Comtrade files from IEC 61850 devices and store them as files in a configured destination directory.

A new retentive computation module is available.

The MQTT interface now supports buffering in output direction to cover connections losses to the addressed broker.
